In 1999, some friends of mine planned a climbing trip to Alaska. Our original plan was to do a first ascent in the Kichatna range. After waiting on the tarmac for the weather to clear for two weeks in Talkeetna, our pilot suggested we explore plan B. Since our goal was to do some wall climbing we decided to go into the the Little Switzerland area to climb some rock. The trip was fun, weather was amazing and we got two first ascents in the area. When we got back to Talkeetna, we learned that the weather in the Kichatnas cleared for only two days in the last three weeks.
